The Generalitat Valenciana has renewed the recognition as an LGTBIQ+phobia-Free Space for the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), a distinction the institution first obtained in 2025.

The renewal of this accreditation, processed through the Vice-Rectorate for Culture, Equality, and Diversity, is part of the Protocol for LGTBIQ+phobia-Free Spaces of the Valencian Community. This initiative allows the UMH to consolidate and continue its actions aimed at awareness, training, and fostering academic and work environments where safety, inclusion, and respect for all realities prevail.
Through this commitment, the university comprehensively strengthens its transversal policies to prevent and eradicate any discriminatory conduct based on sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, and sex characteristics. The UMH provides consolidated support and awareness mechanisms for the entire university community.
