The Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community, in collaboration with the Rector's Office for Healthy Campuses and Sports of the UMH, has organized a new edition of this campaign, which this year introduces the Altea campus as a novelty. The events will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3rd, on the Elche and Altea campuses, while the Sant Joan d’Alacant campus will host it on Wednesday, November 4th.
Under the slogan "Join the Factory of Life", anyone can donate blood on the Elche campus in the Social Council Hall of the Rectorate and Social Council building, located on the 3rd floor, from 09:30 to 14:00. Donation points will also be available in the Altabix building lobbies (from 09:30 to 21:00) and Arenals (from 09:30 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 21:00).
For the first time, the Altea campus will have a new donation point on Tuesday, November 3rd, from 09:30 to 13:30, in the Project Room of the Mascarat building. The marathon will move to the Sant Joan d’Alacant campus on Wednesday, November 4th, in the lobby of the Francisco Javier Balmis building, from 09:00 to 21:00.
Donating blood means giving life, and the process takes about 20 minutes. The province of Alicante requires approximately 250 donations daily to care for individuals with various pathologies. The minimum requirements to donate are being over 18 years old, weighing more than 50 kilograms, and not donating on an empty stomach.
This action is part of the UMHSaludAble Program and aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 3 (#Health and Well-being) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals of the 2030 Agenda).
