The event, organized by the Tiro de Pichón Sports Club and the Sports Department, will take place at the Sara Marín and María Díez pavilion. HyRace combines functional exercises with running segments and will feature individual, pairs, strength, family, and four-person team categories.
The Councilor for Sports, José Antonio Román, highlighted the event's significance, stating, “this competition has achieved something unprecedented, as never before has a competition with this volume of people been organized in the province.” Román also emphasized that it is “a very popular sport” and that the City Council wanted to host this competition during the year Elche is the Mediterranean Capital of Sport.
The Elche event will be the first of three planned HyRace venues, with subsequent stops in Crevillent and Santa Pola. The goal is to launch the first hybrid sport league in the Valencian Community and foster a community connecting journalists, clubs, and training centers.
The event will also have a charitable component. Public entry will cost 5 euros, with all proceeds going to the Conciénciate Foundation. Attendees under 18 years old will have free access.
Bib collection will begin on Friday, September 25th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the L’Aljub Shopping Center. Participants can also collect their bibs on Saturday and Sunday at the Sara Marín and María Díez pavilion itself.
