The grants, awarded through a competitive bidding process, are part of the 2026 call and are directed at non-profit entities working on the conservation of cultural heritage, popular traditions, and community participation in rural areas.
The Cultural Association Friends of Music and Dance of Orihuela (ACAMDO) receives €10,295.40 for the project ‘Monserrate and the traditions of our orchard’. This cultural circuit includes educational activities in schools, dulzaina and tabal street performances, and representations of the symphonic poem ‘Nuestra Señora de Monserrate’, which narrates the history and traditions linked to Orihuela's patron saint.
Meanwhile, the Unión Musical San Bartolomé obtains €3,982.25 for the project ‘San Bartolomé, Music and Huerta’, focused on recovering the oral heritage of the district. The initiative includes intergenerational meetings to collect traditional work songs, children's musical workshops, educational activities on local history, and a digital sound map.
The third subsidy, amounting to €444, is granted to the Association Friends of Culture and Rural World for the 'Molins Cultural Week', which features storytelling workshops for children and families, and workshops on crafting rope chairs using traditional artisan techniques from the Segura orchard.
These subsidies are part of the 2026 Rural Development call, initially endowed with €18,000, for activities carried out between January 1 and October 30 of this year. The agreement also includes an advance payment of 80% of the subsidies.
