The Orihuela Department of Coasts has confirmed the temporary closure of these two coastal areas after the latest routine analyses, carried out on Monday, August 24th, revealed pollution of residual origin. The measure will remain in place until new tests confirm the recovery of the quality parameters required for the safety of swimmers.
As a consequence of the results obtained, swimming has been prohibited and the beaches have been signposted. The Department of Environment and Water, responsible for periodic checks of bathing water quality, has highlighted the speed with which these preventive measures have been taken to ensure user safety.
The Department of Coasts is working intensively, in collaboration with technicians from the Directorate General of Water and other competent bodies, to identify and resolve the source of this pollution as soon as possible.
