The September program kicks off on Friday, September 4th, with the Cena de Bonanza (Bonanza Dinner), a summer farewell event that will include a tasting by Álvaro de la Cerveza Segura for 5 euros.
The festivities of Nuestra Señora Virgen de Monserrate, Orihuela's patron saint, will be a special focus. On Saturday, September 5th, a visit to the Sanctuary will take place, and on Friday, September 18th, a special visit to the Cathedral of Orihuela will be held with the patron saint's image present.
A new addition is the “Repostería Barroca” (Baroque Pastry) route on Thursday, September 10th, which will allow visitors to discover Orihuela's gastronomic tradition linked to this historical period, featuring a tasting of traditional baroque sweets.
On Saturday, September 12th, the visit to the Miguel Hernández House Museum and the sensory workshop “Huéleme” will be revived, an activity for all ages to explore the poet's life and work.
Nature will be highlighted on Saturday, September 19th, with the route “Conoce la Vega desde la Sierra de Hurchillo” (Discover La Vega from the Hurchillo Mountains), aimed at exploring Orihuela's landscape and natural environment.
The month will conclude on Sunday, September 27th, coinciding with World Tourism Day, with a special route through the city's most emblematic sites, ending with a special tasting.
In October, the program will focus on Miguel Hernández, with a tribute route on Friday the 30th, marking the anniversary of his birth.
Orihuela will participate in the 5th Edition of the European Network of Holy Week and Easter Celebrations Days. Routes, visits, and concerts linked to the heritage and traditions of Orihuela's Holy Week have been organized, taking place on October 3rd, 16th, 23rd, 29th, and 31st, including visits to the Holy Week Museum and the Monastery of San Juan with a concert.
Further October offerings include nature and wine tourism activities: on Saturday, October 3rd, a visit to the La Pedrera Reservoir and the Vega Baja wetland with tasting; on Saturday, October 10th, a visit to EPSO and wine tasting; and on Saturday, October 17th, a route along the Las Colinas de Orihuela Costa ecological trail.
