The renovation and expansion works at the CEIP Manuel de Torres in Almoradí are progressing well. The mayor of Almoradí, María Gómez, and the education councilor, Susana Miralles, accompanied by the center's director Ana Pérez, have visited the facilities to learn about the progress of the work.
The educational community has long awaited this project, aimed at comprehensively modernizing one of the most emblematic schools in the town. The project, awarded for approximately 2.5 million euros to the company Vivendio Sostenibilidad Energética S.L., part of the Grupo Aconser, has an execution period of 18 months. The works are being managed by the Almoradí City Council under a delegation of powers from the Conselleria d'Educació of the Generalitat Valenciana.
Mayor María Gómez positively assessed the progress of the work, stating that “this visit allows us to see how a fundamental project for the present and future of the CEIP Manuel de Torres and for public education in Almoradí is advancing”. She added that “we are talking about a comprehensive transformation that will provide more modern, accessible, safe facilities adapted to the current needs of students and teaching staff”.
The project includes the construction of a new indoor gymnasium and a modern library, as well as the creation of various educational and multipurpose spaces. In the Early Childhood Education area, a psychomotor skills room will be set up, classroom connections will be improved, and two new play areas will be created. Physical barriers will also be removed, and a new access door to this area will be established.
The education councilor, Susana Miralles, highlighted that “the works are progressing according to plan, and the necessary coordination and monitoring are maintained to reconcile the work with the operation of the educational center”. She explained that “each of the planned actions responds to needs communicated for years by the educational community”.
The intervention also includes the renovation of the restrooms in the Primary building, improvements to the exterior carpentry, the installation of air conditioning and solar protection systems, and the construction of an elevator to ensure accessibility between floors. Furthermore, fire safety measures will be reinforced, and exterior spaces and primary school patio furniture will be renewed. A new multipurpose room and a multi-use classroom will be incorporated into the former janitor's residence.
