The Cristo de las Campanas represents a symbol of religious devotion, cultural identity, and centuries-old history for Almoradí. This tradition, linked to the parish of San Andrés, is part of the collective memory of the municipality.
On the occasion of the centenary, Almoradí will host from September 18 to 27 a program of events that includes religious, musical, cultural, sports, children's, and community activities, making the festivals a meeting point for residents and visitors.
The Councilor for Festivals, José María Pertusa, has highlighted the relevance of this celebration, which values a deeply rooted devotion in the municipality and connects with local roots, aiming to keep it alive for new generations.
Activities begin on Friday, September 18, at the Hermitage of the Brotherhood with children's games at 7:00 PM. At 8:00 PM, the mass and the start of the Novena to the Santísimo Cristo de las Campanas will be held at the Parish Church of San Andrés. The musical evening will include performances by Vega soul and Estilo Misuri.
On Saturday, September 19, sports will take center stage with the presentation of the Club Balonmano Almoradí Fajovi and the III Handball Tournament Santísimo Cristo de las Campanas at the Venancio Costa Pavilion. The Hermitage will also offer musical performances in the afternoon and evening.
The program for Friday, September 25, includes the Senior Citizens' Festival in the Plaza de San Andrés, with bingo, pastries, cider, and a dance session, especially aimed at the elderly residents of the municipality.
Saturday, September 26, will host the Spanish Petanque Championship 'Dupletas' Senior 2nd Category at the Almoradí Petanque Club. Additionally, the Plaza de la Constitución will be the venue for the X Fair of Authors 'Villa de Almoradí' and traditional children's games.
The cultural day on Saturday will culminate with the Concert-Festival ‘Santo Cristo de las Campanas’ at the Municipal Auditorium, with the participation of the Ateneo Músico Cultural ‘Maestro José Antonio Ayala’ and the Sociedad Unión Musical de Almoradí. In the evening, the Plaza de San Andrés will host the show 'Vive la Revista' with Las Supremas de Móstoles.
On Sunday, September 27, the main day of the festivals, religious ceremonies in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de las Campanas will be held. The solemn mass at the Parish Church of San Andrés will be followed by the traditional procession, which will include a fireworks display and the singing of the hymn.
The mayor of Almoradí, María Gómez, has highlighted the value of this celebration, which is part of the municipality's identity and, with the centenary of the Brotherhood, invites people to experience history and build the future of the tradition.
