The fire broke out around 4:00 PM and caused the flames to spread to other nearby cars. The Castellón Provincial Fire Consortium mobilized six crews, three aerial units, and a command unit to extinguish the blaze.
Medical teams attended to several individuals affected by the incident. Peñíscola is one of nine official sites in the Valencian Community for observing this afternoon's solar eclipse, an event expected to cause around 300,000 journeys.
